LOOKING BACK AT 2009: May

The four middle children all received their first communion last May!  This was a wonderful day...even though it rained it was so beautiful! We had about 40 or so people over to the house after Mass for a BBQ celebration...it was packed and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Guenivere and Father Matt!  I purchased Emily's dress the year before at a used children's clothing store and it was the perfect fit!

 Tommy and Father Matt!  Both the boys went shopping with their dad for

new white dress shirts and belts.

Browning and Father Matt!  The boys looked so handsome

in their new First Communion clothes!

Vivian and Father Matt!  I made Vivian's dress from white eyelet using a pattern I created from another dress that fit her nicely...she looked beautiful!

Apparently, during the service,the boys noticed a bird that came into the church!

 The kids and I all worked together to make the cake(our usual chocolate recipe) and vanilla frosting...we found all the flowers in the garden and front yard!  Around the edge we placed rolled balls of fondant for a border and a friend brought little
candy doves that we sprinkled all over the top.
